Avoid disturbing wildlife to have the best viewing experience at the refuge. The quieter you are, the more you'll see!
Alligators may be encountered anywhere on the refuge, especially near the freshwater ponds; it is potentially dangerous (and a violation of state and federal law) to feed or harass this reptile in any way.
Watch Out! Vegetation overgrowth, rocks, or fallen trees on trails may conceal snakes, poison ivy, or stinging insects.
