Share your love of the refuge by volunteering with the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Friends of Savannah Coastal Refuges! Many types of opportunities are available, including (but not limited to):


  • Refuge maintenance and improvement
  • Invasive species removal
  • Educational activities for school and community groups
  • Outreach to communities and organizations
  • Helping to keep this app and other interpretive materials up to date
  • Assisting visitors at the VC Information Desk
  • Helping in The Gator Hole, our book and nature store located in the Savannah NWR Visitor Center.

The Friends of Savannah Coastal Refuges is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the seven National Wildlife Refuges in the Complex and the Refuge System as a whole.
